Born in North Idaho, my youth was spent traveling around the country with my folks, dad was in the army and I got to see many cities before I hit junior high. Surrounded by various landscapes, expansive backyards and a horde of pets, my imagination was vivid and expansive. My cats became my pride of lions I rule, my dogs, traveling companions into exotic wildernesses, and what kid growing up didn’t imagine their horse bore a knight on to adventures?
Some of my earliest memories are of drawing. Always drawing, it was usually unicorns, and dragons, horses and the occasional Ninja Turtle. I fondly recall making story books with my little sister, or creating magazine covers for her ‘runway shows.’
Inspired by the artist in my family, I always pushed my self to become better at any medium I got my hands on. Not content with markers and colored pencils, I began to experiment with oil paints, watercolor and sculpture. I’ve never balked at a medium I’ve come across, having learned how to cast in bronze, bead and screen print.
By the time I reached high school, my art had been used for t-shirts, flags and posters, and those experiences put me on the path to my current destination.
In the summer of 2006 I moved to Bellingham Washington with my husband and our cats. I fell in love with the Pacific Northwest, and vowed to never move away. I graduated from Whatcom Community College in the summer of 2010 with honors, earning a degree in Graphic Arts.
I spend my time now laser engraving anything that will fit into the machine, painting coats of arms and heraldry, learning how to use my 3d printer, and on the weekends I step into the Middle Ages with the local reenactment group.
I still live in beautiful Bellingham with my Husband, the five cats that are our kids, and a house art, medieval swords in inspiration!
